THE WALK… THE CHASE!!!

February 19th, 2008

I got converted in February 1999 and since then my sincere desire has been to do the will of The One who saved me. A couple of years after my new birth experience, I listened to a teaching on purpose… the unique reason for which I am on earth. It sparked off a strong desire to discover my purpose and fulfill my destiny. I spent several years seeking the face of God to reveal to me the reason why he placed me on earth. I read several books on the subject and listen to several teaching but all I was able to get from them was an anchor scripture and a shallow revelation into the depth of that scripture. It was quite frustrating.

As I grew before the Lord, my thirst to discover what he wanted me to do became consuming. I took time out on several occasions to fast and pray about it. Each time I Read the rest of this entry »

A VERY BEAUTIFUL YEAR TO YOU!!!

January 16th, 2008

Hello friends,

A very beautiful year to you!!! May you fulfill your goals and aspirations as you set your heart to achieve them and your hands to work them out. May the land yield its increase to you and may you find favour in relevant places. This is my prayer for you this year.

Looking back at last year there are sooooooooooooo many things to thank God for. He granted me grace to achieve several feats which seemed like fantasies only seven years ago. He granted me journey mercies on my several trips. I cannot recall how many trips I made by air from Lagos to other parts of the country and I am still here. I covered several thousand kilometers by road, sometimes at neck breaking speed yet… I am still here. Got serious with photography only last year and I am already getting paid for my works. Met quality people who have influenced my life positively. These are just a few of the many things He did for me last year. There are many others too personal to mention on the world wide web.

I would like you to take a few minutes to look back into your 2007 and identify those things that God did and the  people he brought into your life… I am sure you would have a myriad of things to thank Him for.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and thank Him and go into 2008 with great confidence and a strong assurance that He is set to do greater things.

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL YEAR!!!

I AM BACK!!!

December 4th, 2007

Hello Friends,

Let me start by thanking you all for your care and concern while my blog was down. Your calls, text messages and emails were really encouraging.

My service providers experienced a hitch in their system which resulted in the loss of my data. However, thanks to Kayode Muyibi, I have been able to recover most of my articles through Googles cached webpages. I will begin reposting them very soon.

In the mean time, we are doing everything possible to ensure that www.dejiolatunde.com is restored in greater glory.

I would also use this opportunity to thank my friend and coach, Deolu Akinyemi, who has been very supportive in the recovery process. Deolu your friendship is invaluable. I am truly grateful.

Alot has happened during this period of silence and there is a lot to share.

My first article would be posted by Monday. I am sure you would benefit greatly from it. Why not make it a date with me on Monday, December 17, 2007?

Looking forward to reading your comments.

LET IT PASS!!!

September 21st, 2007

It was weekend again. All that was on my mind was submitting the documents to my client and leaving the towers. I had to catch the Virgin Nigeria 18.35 flight out of Abuja. I just hoped that Mercy would not have closed by the time I got upstairs.

Mercy was not there when I got upstairs. She did not come to work that day! Fortunately, Ebun was there to receive the documents from me. After acknowledging receipt of the documents, I grabbed the acknowledgment copy and headed for the lift. Luckly, I did not have to wait for long before the lift came by. When the doors pulled open, I got in to find there was no one else in it apart from the lift operator. It was a quite ride all the way from the 6th floor till we reached the 2nd floor. The lift operator broke the silence when he greeted in a low, timid voice

“Happy Weekend”.  Read the rest of this entry »

WHAT A GOD!!!

July 5th, 2007

Hi All,

Hmmm… Where do I start from?

I apologise for being Absent Without Leave. It’s been over 6 weeks now since I last posted anything. I’d like to thank all of you for visiting and dropping comments during my silence. It was really encouraging to know that even while I was away lives were still being blessed.

A lot happened while I was away. I travelled to Abuja for my younger sister’s wedding on the 24th of May, then to Benin the next week for a friend’s wedding and then to Ondo the following week for yet another friend’s wedding. A couple of weeks later the NLC strike came along. It was a refreshing time for me. I stayed indoors and did a lot of meditation.

Only last week, June 24th precisely, I cycled out of Club Freedom for the first time (the $6,000 was a life saver). I used part of the returns to buy accessories for my camera and invested the rest. For the first time in a very long while, I did not bother checking my account to see whether salaries had been paid. I am presently on traveller again waiting for my second cycle which should happen before the middle of July (God being on my side).

Currently, I am preparing for my first wedding photography contract. It will be taking place on Saturday, July 7, 07 in Lagos. I am preparing hard and looking forward to it. Friends and colleagues all over have been sending me materials, counsel and tips on how to make it a great hit. One even sowed a seed towards the purchase of equipment. Thank you for your support and for believing in me. I will not disappoint you.

Today, I would be sharing a personal Psalm which I wrote during my morning devotion while I was at home on holiday 9 years ago. I could not help but write down my amazement as I sat by the river bank behind our family house in Abuja. As I watched the sun rise, the clear river flow, the crows playing and the gentle breeze blowing I  marvelled at the splendor of the creator.

I hope this puts you in a right frame of mind to worship the creator.

Enjoy!!!

May 17th, 2007

Hallo friends,

I met Oyin about 9 months ago. Over this period we became quite close. We talk about any and everything - from work, to family, relationships, likes and dislikes, etc. Sometime ago she informed of her decision to buy a car to end the stress and harassment of Lagos Danfo buses but her budget was not large enough to get what she truly desired. We notice that the cars the dealers were willing to sell for that price were either of a low grade or not worth the price. This dragged on for a while. When she saw she was not making any headway she decided to increase the budget but we still were not getting fair deals so we agreed that a trip to Lome would be our best option. Hello Good People,

By now you must visited www.dejiolatunde.com/photo. To you it may just be another photoblog but to me it is a nine year old dream come true. I’ll share it with you.
My interest in photography spans as far back as I can remember. It was so strong that at the age of nine I opened up my uncle’s camera to see how the image was captured on the film. Unfortunately for me I was caught in the act. Needless to say, I got a good beating for my inquisitiveness. Read the rest of this entry »

The GOOD OLD DAYS!!!

April 23rd, 2007

Hello Friends,

Its been a long while since we last touched base. I apologize for my long absence.

While I was away I was able to set up my photoblog (www.deji.shutterchance.com). A link to this blog has been placed under my blogroll in the side bar (My Photoblog). I encourage you to visit from time to time to see how we doing, rate the pictures and drop your comments. I would be looking forward to reading from you.

This week I will be sharing with you some financial lesson I learnt while waiting to take a haircut at the barber’s shop. They are simple, practical and true. I believe you have a lot to gain if you keep to them.

Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Regards,

Deji Olatunde

It was Sunday evening again. I had drawn up my plans and had begun preparing for the new week. All I needed was a hair cut and I would be set to go. I grabbed my barbing set and strolled down to the barber’s shop just down the road.

When I got there, two people were waiting to have their hair cut so I sat on the bench Read the rest of this entry »

ACTIVATE THE WORD!

February 8th, 2007

February 8th, 2007

Hi Friends,

I’m so sorry “Now I understand why… (2)” is not still out. I tried to write but it did not flow. Somehow, I believe this article was blocking it. This just had to come out first.

The article you are about to read is timely and very relevant to you. It has the ability to preserve your life and protect you from unnecessary loss.

As you go through it remember that the power is not in the reading but in the doing and not just doing but doing consistently.

Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Deji Olatunde.

Crime in the city of Lagos has been on the increase. Over the past month, I lost a friend to hoodlums who attacked her after her car broke down at a notorious spot in the city. Two others were shot at in traffic and another was thoroughly beaten and dispossessed of his valuables. But for the intervention of God he would have been killed. I am sure there are other incidents I’m not aware of.  With all these happenings I sit back and wonder… With all the exceedingly great and precious promises outlined in the Bible about protection and preservation, how come all these wicked things are still happening? My First Time…

October 26th, 2006

Today is the first time I am going to make a post on my site. I am excited about it but also a bit nervous! Nervous, because I have not actively been involved in writing before now. But I’ll do my best and I know it will turn out well. I’ll leave you to judge and will appreciate your candid feedback.
